The perceived value of Amari Cooper has taken a huge hit year over year among dynasty owners. This time last year Cooper could be found in the top-10 in a most dynasty rankings. Cooper was poised to take a big step forward in his third year in the league.

48 receptions and 680 receiving yards later his stock is at an all-time low. Invest while you still can.

Before we dive into the positive, let's try to figure out why Cooper failed to live up to expectations in 2017.

Targets

Cooper finished the season with 96 targets. That was good enough to rank 40th in the league this year. While 96 targets is nothing to dismiss, how those targets were distributed should be noted.

51 of his 96 targets came in 4 games in 2017. That's 53% of his targets. Cooper was able to turn those 51 targets into 25 receptions, 378 yards and three touchdowns.

I know what you're going to say. "But 210 yards of it came in one game". And you would be right, but we can't knock him for capitalizing on a whopping 19 target game in Week  7.

53% of his targets coming in four game span means there were a handful of game he didn't see a high volume of targets. Cooper saw five or fewer targets in six games in 2017. That means he saw five targets or few 42% of the time.

For comparison, Cooper logged nine games of eight or more targets in 2016. He had five such games in 2017, which was 55% less year over year.

It's hard to ignore the fact that Amari Cooper had five games with 10 or less receiving yards. However, it is worth acknowledging that he only saw a combined four targets over three of those games.
